Both lanes now open on Rideau Ferry Bridge
The long-awaited reopening of both lanes on Rideau Ferry Bridge has begun!
The bridge is jointly owned by Lanark County and the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville. Work
to rehabilitate the bridge was undertaken by Dalcon Constructors Limited in April 2022 and the bridge
was reduced to one lane throughout the construction season. Material and labour shortages last year
meant work to complete both sides of the bridge was postponed until this spring to prevent concrete
work being undertaken in unfavourable conditions.
“Work has been completed on schedule this spring and we are pleased to be able to reopen both
lanes to traffic as the busy summer season gets underway,” said Sean Derouin, Lanark County public
works manager. “We would like to thank motorists for their patience while this important rehabilitation
work was completed.”
