Section of Tay Havelock Trail to be Closed for Maintenance
A section of the Tay Havelock trail will be closed from Monday September 16th to Friday September 20th to allow for grading of the trail surface in preparation for resurfacing.
Public Works Manager Sean Derouin explained “Lanark County has retained Crain’s Construction to resurface the Tay Havelock trail from McGowans Lake westerly to the Frontenac Boundary. Including grading, base repairs and stone dust re-surfacing”. There will be no detour in place.
Popular with ATV users, this multi-use 25 km stretch within Lanark County along abandoned rail bed can be accessed south of Hwy. 7 at Glen Tay. There are multiple access points as it links with many other legs of the Trans Canada Trail for a journey through gorgeous countryside.
