Section of the Ottawa Valley Recreational Trail (OVRT) to be closed for maintenance
A section of the Ottawa Valley Recreational Trail (OVRT) will be closed from Wednesday, October 2nd to Friday, October 4th to allow for repairs to an existing concrete culvert that passes under the trail.
"Lanark County has retained Cavanagh Construction to conduct repairs on a concrete culvert south of Drummond Road in Mississippi Mills on the OVRT," explained Public Works Manager Sean Derouin, A signed detour route will be in place, beginning at Ramsay Concession 8 and concluding at Drummond Road.
The opening of the OVRT in Lanark County has created a transportation corridor for pedestrians, cyclists, four-wheelers and snowmobilers travelling from Sturgess Road (just north of Smiths Falls) to Arnprior and beyond. With multi-purpose, year-round use, the OVRT connects three of Lanark County's prettiest towns.
